Blurbage: Something to Curse About

StCA_web600The year 2000 brought in more than a new millennium. With it came The Melding, which returned magic and fairytales, both light and dark, to the world. Seven years later, Discord Jones has gained some control over the psychic abilities she received, though they continue to grow and change, challenging her to adapt.

Yet her new “normal” is anything but, as a family outing leads Cordi into a maze of curses, life-altering changes, and the sure knowledge that gods walk the earth.

If that weren’t enough, Cordi is quickly losing her anonymity as well as neutrality in a world full of politics and intrigue. Except that mortal politics rarely end in death. In the Supe world, it’s practically a requirement.

Still on track for late December release (most likely after Christmas Day). πŸ™‚

Done. Well, Sort of…

I wrote the final word on Something to Curse About tonight. Woohoo!

Of course, that’s not the end of the work on it. I sent the final file to my beta readers, and will see what other suggestions they have. I’ll more than likely do some revision work in the interests of incorporating some of those suggestions, and after that, will spend some time going over and over the result, tidying up any loose ends and such.

Once I call that done, off it goes to Tonya for final editing before she disappears on vacation.

The final step before formatting and release will be working through the red ink spell she puts on it.

Honestly, all of that’s the easy part. πŸ™‚

I haven’t yet picked a firm release date since those steps will take a little bit, but I’m thinking either right before or right after Christmas. Stay tuned! πŸ™‚

New Heights

Today, Arcane Solutions reached a new high in both overall ranking and Top 100 lists ranks:

SqueeDec10-2013

Not only a new high, but y’all have kept it on the Paranormal Top 100 since November 23rd, and put it on the Urban Fantasy Top 100 eleven of those days as well.

Once again, I want to say THANK YOU!

A couple of years back, I decided to stop trying to promote my books much in favor of writing more and releasing new titles. Because of that decision, I don’t have thousands of Facebook “fans” or Twitter followers because I haven’t pimped either much, and it doesn’t really seem to matter. πŸ™‚

Instead, with a combination of trying my best to write good stories, a small but pretty hardcore readership always willing to retweet, etc, and a lot of luck, more readers have discovered Arcane Solutions and decided to purchase it. That’s beyond cool. πŸ™‚

In other news, Something to Curse About is currently at 90% so steadily nearing completion, and therefore on track for a post-Christmas release. I’m hoping to hand it over to my editor by Sunday evening.

It’s been a fun story to write. I love Discord and her friends, and am eagerly anticipating getting started on Book 3: Save the Last Vamp for Me, which I’m planning to release in June 2014.

So thanks again, people. It’s been an exciting couple of months! πŸ™‚
